Interview with Video Game Composers Harumi Fujita and Takahiro Izutani at Otakon July 29, 2022

On Friday, July 29, I had the honor to interview Harumi Fujita and Takahiro Izutani on the first day of Otakon. Fujita is a video game composer who has worked on Mega Man 3, Final Fight, Ghosts n’ Goblins, and more for SNK, Capcom, and others.

Takahiro is also a video game composer and has worked on Metal Gear Solid 4, Bayonetta and more. Both are part of Brave Wave Productions.

Under the name Dugo, Takahiro released a solo album, Lingua Franca in 2017.

In the attached interview, they explain how they got started in music, how video game composition technology has advanced (in the beginning you could only play three notes at a time), and Takahiro explains how he joined Brave Wave Productions.
