The University of Maryland’s K-pop group Ganji performed at the Asia Collective Night Market on Saturday.
In this interview, two members tell how they joined Ganji, how they had previous experience dancing, everyone in the group is amazing, the process of choreography, and the growth of K-pop.
They explained that K-pop is an art form with many different genres and that it is becoming more popular now.
Choreography takes work, they said, but they focus on having fun because this makes it easier to put everything else together. People are ultimately in it for the friends and the music, and that makes people try to work harder, they explained.
Ganji also hosts weekly one hour workshops that are open to the public. Members usually teach the chorus to a popular song during these spaces. @ganjiumd @asiacollectivenightmarket
